Before you hire, build the job someone can succeed in
More capacity requires more than another person with a tool bag.

Look for sustained demand
Review booking demand over time, including quieter periods. Separate jobs you genuinely could not serve from inquiries that would not have booked anyway. A hiring decision needs a conservative view of additional completed work.
Document what good looks like
Write down expectations for field work, reporting, customer communication and escalation. Plan training, supervision and quality checks. Include management time, equipment and payroll-related costs in the business case.
Stress-test the plan
Use the hiring calculator to explore different workloads and compensation assumptions. The model is simplified and does not establish employment compliance or insurance requirements. Discuss those questions with appropriate advisers before hiring.
